One thing that most people find hard to do, especially it seems, online is focus on one thing.

I'm no different, are you?

I knew it had been a while since I had written anything here, just didn't realise quite how long!

So what have I been up to and have I earn't any money doing it?

Blogging
First of all I am still following the Blog Mastermind course, albeit loosely. Now that is not me being slack, just that I have decided I want to enjoy the blog I have created as it is about one of my passions, motorcycling, and not feel under pressure to write or do things with it. From accountants to car mechanics to painters and decorators the world over most do not want anything to do with their JOB in their spare time, so turn that around I do not want my passion to become a job.If you're interested you can see my blog at motorbikin.com.

When I first started it I wrote something for it every single day and this certainly helped to get it higher up in the search engines. I even set it up to write a post a day on autopilot whilst I was on holiday! Now, having established that foundation, I write less often, more when the mood takes me and I feel moved to write something. I also started to Twitter what I was up to and this has brought more traffic.

I have been learning how to create videos for my blog using Animoto, which is a free and paid for service, for creating videos from photographs. I think that's rather neat and whilst they are not always good video quality it does provide a good way to get into video and there is a facility to upload your videos to youtube and increase your traffic that way.

The eagle-eyed amongst you may notice that there are not many opportunites on that blog for making money. Whilst this hasn't been totally deliberate on my part I prefer at this stage to concentrate on content. Having said that I have made some small change from Google Adsense and this is growing all the while along with my traffic.

OK so I am a long way from passive income with my blog, but hey I'm enjoying the ride (no pun intended), I'm still following the Blog Mastermind course, and I'm getting to write about a subject I'm passionate about.

More tomorrow….

Over the last couple of weeks I have enrolled on a couple of
programs that so far seem to be complimenting each other pretty well, which is
an unexpected bonus.

In case you are not familiar with the Thirty Day Challenge

it is run by internet marketing expert and extremely funny Aussie bloke Ed Dale
and the aim of the challenge is to teach you, me and everybody to make at least
one dollar online over a 30day period. The best bit is that Ed and his team give all of this information freely
in the form of daily video tutorials AND in addition it needn’t cost you
anything, that is, you can complete the course and it won’t have cost you a
penny, bargain!

You would be excused for thinking well it can’t be that good
if he’s giving it away …..

….but believe me, it’s only Day 11 of the current
challenge and already I am extremely impressed with the quality of the
information being given away not to mention the extremely cool tools being made
freely available.

It doesn’t matter if you come into the challenge late I
guarantee that you will still learn something valuable from the videos. The aim of the challenge so far is to see
whether people are spending money in a particular market and then I assume
later on we will be taught what to do with that information.

Click on the logo to get started with the Thirty Day
Challenge and let me know what you think.

The second program I am following is Yaro Starak’s Blog
Mastermind course. If you’ve ever wondered whether you
could make money from blogging about your passion then I believe Yaro is the man
to teach you.

He makes a serious amount of money blogging about something that
he is very interested in nay passionate about.

Now imagine for a moment that you are absolutely bonkers about Yorkshire
Terriers

and you feel you could write about these cute little
dogs every single day then why not start a blog about it? Whether you’re bonkers about babies or
passionate about pooches then learn how to blog about your passion and
somewhere down the line you’re probably going to make some decent money from it
IF you are prepared to work at it.

If that sounds like something that interests you then I
recommend that you start by downloading Yaro’s free book by clicking here >> Blog Profits Blueprint

Then have a look at Yaro’s video

I’ve just received week 2 of the course and the quality of the materials – pdfs and audios – plus the help extended in the users forum from Yaro and the other mentors looks promising and I will keep you updated on my progress.

That was certainly a mistake and I highly recommend this book to you.

The Rich Dad books are well worth taking the time to read especially if you want to learn sound financial principles and not work for someone else for the rest of your life. This book teaches you how
to build an ark, as Robert Kiyosaki calls it, for the coming financial storm.

What I am going to talk about had a massive impact on me because it really contains a powerful lesson about what makes the difference between staying poor or getting wealthy.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

That’s what he asked of a group of students at a real estate seminar.

But despite what you might think this is not a re-run of the pep talk
from your parents, or the careers advisor just before you left school,
what is actually being asked here is not about what profession you
want to follow but:

Do you want to grow up to be more or less honest?

More or less reliable?

Have more or less integrity?

These students are asked these questions because they have all been
making excuses as to why they wouldn’t be able to follow the advice
being given at the seminar. What comes out of the discussions that
follow is:

Are honesty, reliability and integrity important to you?

Assuming yes, consider this…

Excuses are lies you tell yourself

Read that again

OK let me explain

Do you say:

I don’t have time?

I don’t have the money?

My credit rating is bad?

Thought so….so do !

The book advises to turn that around into a more truthful statement:

If I say I don’t have time, then if I’m honest with myself I’m saying
‘I am not willing to make the time’

It goes on to say:

Don’t make the facts of your lives excuses for your lives

Pow that hit me!

Raise the standards on yourself, if you don’t your life stays the same

Pow again!

Excuses (lies) hold us back, no one else

The book goes on to advise:

Lies (excuses) – come from the loser in me

Honesty – comes from the winner in me

Let the winner take over, ask instead ‘How can I make the time?’

So, how can you and I make more time?

Can we learn something on audio whilst driving?

Can we get up an hour earlier?

Can we read something whilst the dinner is cooking?

Can we miss that TV programme and spend an hour building our business instead?

Or do we want our lives to stay the same as they are now?

It’s our choice
